We all have heard of OM chanting. This is not a new concept. It is being done from the Ancient Times. It’s just that we all have forgotten its significance in our lives. “Aum” is said to be the most important sound for the meditators. In the Yogic Culture, there are only three sounds that are said to be the root sounds of the web of sounds, of the other sounds. There are numerous of sounds in the cosmos but these three sounds are said to be the base of all other sounds. They are “AA”, “OO” and “MM”. These are the only three sounds in the whole cosmos that can be uttered without using our tongue and when uttered together. It is chanted as “AUM”. A person who is dumb, who cannot speak he is also able to produce just these three sounds. Even a child who doesn’t even know how to use the tongue to speak, he can also produce only these three sounds. This simple word when chanted can do wonders for our physical as well as our mental state because this word is said to be the mixture of the natural sounds. When you will produce the sound “AA” the whole body gets vibrated. It starts from just beneath the navel. and goes across the body. It is said in YOGA that that human body consists of 72000 Nadis (nerve endings, key points). These 72000 Nadis meet just a little inch below the navel and the place where they meet is said to be the Maintenance center. So this “AA” is considered as the Vishnu’s sound as Lord Vishnu handles the maintenance department. OO is the Brahma Sound, the creator and MM is said to be the Shiva’s sound, the destroyer. So only These 3 sounds are capable of touching all the 72000 Nadis.

Behind each word of a mantra hides a frequency that affects our physical as well as our mental state. So, the word “OM” touches the highest frequency and attracts the positivity. We have 2 types of energies around us. The positive and the negative and “OM” chanting or any other mantra when chanted attracts the positive one. This sound brings peace and balance to the meditator’s system, and is known to heal people from numerous physical and mental ailments when practiced regularly.

Give just 15 mins of the day. You can do it right after you wake up or right before going to bed but do it just for your mental and physical balance.
